Ask Vic — Can Trend Micro unblock my new website?
Article by Fearless Web TeamFiled under: Ask Vic,Tips and Tricks,Trend Micro Titanium | RSS 2.0 | 5 Comments |
Hello Vic,
I’m developing a website right now, and one of my test users has Trend Micro Titanium installed, and is not able to use the website: http://www.universalstop.com. Can you point me in the right direction with regard to figuring out: 1) Why is it being blocked? And 2) How to mitigate this?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

Hi Jeremy. Thanks very much for your question.
Trend Micro has a free public service where you can check to see how we classify URLs: http://global.sitesafety.trendmicro.com/result.php. When I used this resource to check http://www.universalstop.com, I see that it has not been classified yet by our URL filtering service, most likely because it is still new.
I’m not sure how your test user’s Titanium is set up, but if it is still blocking this URL, the person can add the URL as an “exception” to the URL blocking rules in effect.
Titanium will not attempt to classify or block an URL on the exception list. Here’s how you add a URL to the exception list:
- Open the Titanium control panel.
- Click on Exceptions lists in the Protection Settings panel.
- Click on Websites.
- Click on the +Add button.
- Enter the URL you want to unblock to the Add the address (URL) of a website
of the Add or Edit an Item. - Click on the OK button.

Hi, I don’t know my fathers password and I want to go on meebo. I really want to just talk to friends as Trend Micro blocks almost every site. Is there a way to unblock it without the password? I also can’t delete Trend micro from the registry, I tried searching for all the things necessary but it doesn’t work. Please help, and don’t be stupid by saying “Listen to your parents” or stuff like that, thanx. |

I have recently published two simple affiliate websites and Trend has blocked them both. Why is this happening. This is driving me out of business. The first website I just shut down because Trend would not reclassify it as safe. All it was, was a simple informational website on hair color. Please Advise |

Sorry for the late response. If people cannot get to your website and it is otherwise trustworthy, then have them whitelist your URL in their security software. If your site is truly non-malicious, we will figure it out sooner or later and your site will be re-classified. |
